Located near the small hamlet of Peat Inn, Fife and only 10 minutes from St Andrews, Hawkswood Country Estate is hidden away in a number of senses. Privately tucked away from the hustle and bustle of St Andrews, yet brilliantly central for all the golf courses of Fife, Hawkswood has quietly and efficiently established itself as one of the ‘must stay’ accommodations in the Home of Golf.
Expertly created by the Ainscough Family, the focus is on quality, flexibility and friendliness.
There are three properties on the 55 acres. Hawkswood House and The Roundel both have five bedrooms and can sleep 10. The properties can be self-catering, or catering can be arranged. Bowhill Bed and Breakfast has four bedrooms, sleeping another 8.
Surrounded by immaculate grounds, forests, fields, peace and quiet, the Roundel and Hawkswood House both have their own golf short-game practice facilities and a hot tub. Both also share a 270-yard driving range.
The level of accommodation is 5*, with spacious bedrooms, high-end kitchens, the mod cons you would expect and homely communal areas ideal for a family or group get-together.
In 2017, Grey Nickel helped a Belgian golf club book both self-catering properties, organise a chef for breakfast, aswell as reserve local restaurants and golf in the area. The 16 in the group had a mix of twin and single rooms, they stocked up the properties with drinks beforehand and were expertly chauffeured to the courses by the family. It ticked all the boxes for a high-end golf trip, but equally, the properties are perfect for a friends and family gathering.
